CREATION OR EVOLUTION
Intro: God commands us to keep these
Feasts in order to remind him of his plan. One of the important
things that is going to happen in the millennium is that the
knowledge of God as creator is going to be restored. Mankind has
lost that knowledge today just as he has lost knowledge of the
Holydays themselves and replaced them with pagan days.
Our children -- when they go to school are exposed to a theory -- that is purely naturalistic. If you are a "theistic" evolutionists -- they will make fun of you just as much as if you believe in creation. It is very important for our youths sake that they understand that the theory of evolution is just that -- a theory. It can be shown to be FALSE!!
They are going to hear over and over that they have evolved from an ape like creature fin the past. They are going to hear that evolution is really a fact, not just a theory.
I hope that our youth can understand after listening to this sermon that there is much evidence that goes directly contrary to the theory of Evolution.
SPS: TODAY WE ARE GOING TO EXAMINE THE QUESTION: CREATION OR EVOLUTION .
Which one really has the scientific evidence to prove it? Can you go to evidences that point to divine creation.
GEN 1:1 There is no more controversial verse in the whole Bible. The world has come to believe that the Universe came about by chance. The Bible says over and over that it was designed and created and maintained by God Almighty! That we are created beings put on this earth by God.
The Bible also says that God did it literally in 6 days and rested on the 7th.
EXO 20:11 Whenever people are going to pull away from the Bible and start to exhalt science -- they start to disregard the plain statement of scripture. This statement in no negative the belief that we have that a rebellion of Satan at one time in the ancient past destroyed the earth.
PRO 3:19 When you look at the tremendously complex organisms that we see around us -- you start to realize that God has such a mind and ability that we can barely begin to comprehend it.
THE BIBLE PREDICTED THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION
. II Peter 3:3-7 The Bible here shows that ideas like the theory of Evolution would be here today. This is very close to what they teach. That the Universe started with a Big Bang and God has laid hands off since -- that "uniformitarianism" is the rule of the day.
The Bible also predicted that the intellectuals of this World would have difficulty with the truth.
Mat 11:25-26 Notice that God has revealed the truth -- not to the intellectual professors at the Universities -- but to the babes -- to those considered by the world "not so smart". The intellectuals of this world get confused by their own wisdom -- which is from man and not from God.
DEFINITION OF THEORY OF EVOLUTION :
(Webster's Collegiate Dict)
"A theory that various types of animals and plants have
their origin in other preexisting types and that the
distinguishable difference are due to modifications in successive
generations".
TWO MORE DEFINITIONS: MICRO EVOLUTION --Micro evolution means small variations that take place in living organisms. Example: Breeding small dogs to become big dogs. There is no dispute about that -- there are variations that take place in all of us from one generation to another.
MACRO EVOLUTION -- Now we have hit the real controversial part -- the idea that you can turn a fish into a cat, or a cow into a dog, or an amphibian into a mammal.
So in essence the difference is this -- creation states that God created the Universe. Evolution -- basically states -- life came about by chance and is changed by chance mutations. No prime force --- no creator.
EVOLUTION IS ANTI-CHRISTIAN : The very basic tenants of evolution -- that the fittest only survive is anti-christian. It goes against what Christ says. In fact the theory of evolution was used by the Germans in W.W.II to argue that they were the superior race -- they had the right to exterminate others because they were superior. Survival of the fittest is one of Darwin's ideas. It still permeates the theory of evolution.
MAT 5:43-4 4 In fact brethren -- the theory of evolution is behind many of the social problems of our day -- Abortion -- why not have an abortion if we are just exist by chance and go into oblivion. Evolution itself teaches the opposite of Christ. Evolution teaches that competition is the way to win -- Christ taught that humility and obedience to God are the way to win in the end.
PROOFS AGAINST EVOLUTION: When your child goes to school he is going to be indoctrinated with this idea. He is not going to be taught that God created man from the dust of the ground -- he is going to be taught that man came from an "ape-like" ancestor. There are many problems with those who advocate this "ape-like creature" that God used to develop man. The evidence is that man appears suddenly as do other species in the Geologic Record.
1. LIFE IS VERY COMPLEX.
(Complexity of life -- points to a designer)
One of the myths that is given to children is that the Geologic Record, life starts out very simple and later goes to more complex types. In some cases I am going to make statements that can be substantiated -- but because of time I am not going to be able to give you all the sources.
The truth is that life itself -- in any form is extremely
complex.
If you are interested in this subject -- one of the best books
you can get is Michael Denton's book -- "Evolution a Theory
in Crisis". He is an Australian medical doctor and scientist
who is doing biological research. He is very well acquainted with
micro-biology.
Evolution is a theory that goes back to classic times. Page 37
(Evolution a Theory in Crisis). The classical scholars had the
same ideas. They thought that life naturally came from non-living
matter all the time. It wasn't until Pasteur proved that life
came only from pre-existing life that these ideas changed.
DARWIN ON TRIAL -- PAGE 54. The earliest strata where life appears for sure -- Cambrian -- has an explosion of life. There is no gradual change to a more complicated life form. The Burgess shale (Page 55 Darwin on Trial) -- has some species of life that we don't even have today.
When you go down to southwestern Utah -- you can pick up trilobites with your hands -- (Middle Cambrian) -- these trilobites are actually mined there. The strata there are not hard -- but loose -- indicating that there probably was not the amount of time that evolutionists claimed.
Molecular Biologists have not proven that proteins can be produced by chance (Denton - Page 324). Proteins are only the less complicated building blocks of life. They just don't come about by chance.
2. GEOLOGY SHOWS SPECIES SUDDENLY APPEARING -- NOT GRADUALLY.
When Darwin wrote his book on Origin of the Species -- he has a specific place where he mentioned some of the problems of his theory. He thought that time would bring proof from the Geologic Record that intermediate species had come about. The opposite has happened. Now it is becoming more and more obvious that those intermediate species seem to exist only in the minds of evolutionists!!

. 3. PROBLEMS WITH GEOLOGIC DATING METHODS.
This is one of the most interesting aspects of Geology -- where my personal research and experience as a Petroleum Engineer was helpful. We are led to believe that long age of the earth has been proven by Dating methods -- like Potassium Argon Dating/ C-14 Dating, etc. The truth is when you look inside the scientific literature you find that C-14 can be found in coal -- at low levels- but there nonetheless. What is so shocking is that coal is much too old to have an C-14 left. They claim that coal was formed many millions of years ago.
Some interesting facts: Living Mollusks in a river often give ages over 1000's of years old.
Potassium Argon Dating of volcanic ash etc. of volcanoes in Hawaii give millions of years ages for an eruption we know from historic evidence occurred only a 100 years ago.
(You can get a copy of the scientific literature that proves this if you wish later).
Radiometric dating methods in the Grand Canyon -- give older dates for higher strata than lower strata. What has happened in the evolutionists are like politicians -- they only give you the data they want you to hear. They ignore or make fun of data that disagree with their theories -- or the theory of Evolution.
4. ORIGIN OF MAN -- MUCH DOUBT AND FRAUD IN THAT AREA.

Page 43 The origin of man is a profound mystery -- of course we
are curious. This is not what they lead you to believe during
their documentaries -- they tend to think that they have it all
figured out.
There is very little proof at all that man came from these
"Hominids" they find.
Lucy -- saw one TV documentary (In Search of) where a group of
scientists were arguing whether Lucy was a money or a predecessor
of man. You see - these fossils don't have little tags on them
that say -- I am so and so.'s great grandfather. Or I am millions
of years old.
5. ANOMALOUS FOSSILS
One of the biggest areas that has been overlooked by the evolutionists is when a fossil of any type is found that is out of their sequence.
EXAMPLE: HUMAN FOOTPRINT OF MAN IN A ROCK WITH A TRILOBITE.
A schoolteacher from Salt Lake City was hiking near Antelope
Springs Utah years ago and found what looked like a footprint of
a man with a trilobite in the middle of the footprint. What is so
shocking about that is that Geologists and Evolutionists think
that man was millions and millions of years apart from
trilobites. He took it to a professor at the University of Utah
-- he didn't even want to look at it. Why? Because if he found it
to be true -- he could lose his job and be the laughing stock of
the scientific community.
PICTURE OF DINOSAURS ON WALLS . One of the most interesting articles I found was a picture of a wall in Grand Canyon that has various animals etched in the rock -- the shocker was one of the animals looked like a dinosaur. You see Pauxy River (which has many questions) is not the only place where there seems to be evidence that dinosaurs lived with man.
COELACANTH--Here is a fish -- we know now that the natives off Africa have been eating them for many years -- that according to the Geologic Record died out with the Dinosaurs -- around 100 million years ago -- yet more than one group of them has been found alive -- they didn't die out -- they are around. The Geologists thought they were dead and everyone was shocked to find them alive.
A TREE IN NEW ZEALAND--Just a year ago -- a tree was found alive in New Zealand -- same thing -- they though it was gone for over 100 million years. The article states: This is like finding a living dinosaur
. OVERTURNED STRATA -- How many of you have been to Glacier National Park. Glacier Park is an example of something called and "overthrust". The Geologists have to call it that or the theory of evolution goes down the comode. Older strata is on top of younger strata. Their explanations for how it got that way are silly. They don't make sense. One Geologists paper I saw tried to explain the overthrust by saying that compressed water -- between the layers is the explanation and the strata slide over another. Doe you recognize that story -- high levels of water -- water under great pressure
PROOFS OF CREATION:
1. COMPLEXITY OF LIFE SHOWS DESIGN .
Page 327 -- Evolution: A THEORY IN CRISIS.
Again we see the wonders of God when we look at creation. Denton
comments that you intuitively feel that there is a creator when
you look at the complexity of life.
2. ORIGIN OF LIFE -- MUCH EASIER TO UNDERSTAND
BY DIVINE CREATION .
Page 329 -- Evolution a Theory in Crisis. The protein cell is
very complicated and we probably won't be able to reproduce one
in the lab till the turn of the century. Yet a single cell
depends on perhaps 100,000's of these cells.
When you read the literature -- you find that the origin of life is much in dispute. They can't even start to explain how life started. The very soup they envision as producing life -- kills that life after it is born.
Another myth that goes around is that man has produced life in a test tube. We have accomplished certain small steps. A lot of the genetic engineering that goes on -- is taking existing DNA or RNA altering it -- not starting from scratch. Experiments about the origin of life are not convincing when you look behind the headlines.
3. LAW -- ITSELF SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE IS DESIGNED
. Eph 3:9 The Bible says that everything was created by Jesus Christ. It is interesting that those who deny God's existence accept something and take something forgranted that must be there for evolution to exist -- the consistency of law! Without laws that work in a regular fashion there is no universe.
AS MR. ARMSTRONG TAUGHT: TO HAVE LAW -- YOU MUST HAVE A LAWGIVER . If the Universe was built by chance - which evolutionists claim -- then laws would also be inconsistent. They also would work by chance.
There is so much more that could be said on this subject. I have only been able to scratch the surface of the evidence against the theory of evolution
. CONCLUSION: Youth -- when you go to school and the biology teach says you came from an ape like creature -- don't believe it.
GEN 2:7 Your belief that God created you from the dust of the ground -- that you are the result of a divine creation of an omnipotent -- super intelligent spirit being -- GOD -- has more evidence for it than the ideas that men come up with. Let's be thankful that God is restoring this knowledge to the Church. This is the knowledge that will spread over the world as we enter into the million. The fables of men will be a thing of the past.
